About Our Apparel

The main brand used for t-shirts and other apparel sold by DWSS is Gildan.  While the Gildan models used for other apparel vary, the main Gildan t-shirt model is Ultra Cotton, a 6.1 oz/per square yard 100% preshrunk cotton t-shirt with double-needle stitching on the collar, sleeves, and bottom hem. Other Gildan models as well as other apparel brands may be used for the apparel sold by DWSS, so be sure to check the product description of each product to verify which apparel model or brand is being used.

The printing method used to make the t-shirts and other apparel sold by DWSS is screen printing with plastisol inks. Most screen printing tends to result in printed images that are durable and color vibrant but that also tend to have varying degrees of "hand," meaning the degree to which the texture of a printed image can be distinguished from the fabric it is printed on. Generally speaking, this feel can vary from heavy to soft to none with various adverbs applied.

The t-shirts and other apparel sold by DWSS have hand that ranges from soft to slightly heavy. Our white t-shirts and other apparel have a soft hand mainly because they do not require a white ink base. A white base is the main reason why most screen printed images have a heavy hand. It is only used on dark t-shirts and apparel anyways to help prevent ink colors from becoming dull due to the existing color of the t-shirt and apparel.

Our dark t-shirts and other apparel have a slightly heavy hand, but not as heavy as some other dark t-shirts and apparel. One reason for this is that some of our printed images have transparent backgrounds, lessening the amount of ink. The elements of these particular printed images, including the border, binary numbers, and letters, will have a minor Braille-like feel because they have been printed using a white base. As for our other printed images that do have color backgrounds, we limit the backgrounds to certain dark, opaque colors that do not require a white base, lessening the amount of hand.

Wash and Care Instructions: To maximize the image durability of all t-shirts sold by DWSS, follow these wash and care instructions: turn the t-shirt inside out, wash in cold water with like colors, and tumble dry on low heat. DO NOT iron printed image directly.
